5 Things to do in Paris in July
Posted in Discover Paris le
July in Paris should mean lots of fun fairs, events and celebrations. But, this summer is a little more subdued in the wake of lockdown. Even so, there are still plenty of things to do in Paris in July as parks, theme parks, museums and terraces reopen for the season.
1- Bastille Day isn’t cancelled, it is just amended.
Bastille Day should be one of the most lavish celebrations in Paris with parades and lots of fun for all the family. This year, things have been downsized a little bit to a military ceremony at Place de la Concorde. But, you can still go out and watch the flypast. Look out for local events in your area too.
2- Disneyland is reopening.
On July 15th, Disneyland Paris will open its doors to the public once more. This is great news for all those that have been craving a trip to this magical world. There will be some notable changes to the capacity of the rides, queueing systems and the need for mandatory face masks. But, that shouldn’t limit your enjoyment too much.
3- You can relax outside in Paris’ pools and outdoor spaces.
Lockdown showed how easy it is to take the outdoor spaces of Paris for granted. The relaxation of restriction means that you can now head to parks and beautiful areas to unwind. This also means that the Paris Plages will get to reopen for the summer, turning the Bassin de la Villette into a beach with deckchairs and ice cream.
4- You can get a coffee and ice cream on a beautiful terrace.
Paris’ bars and restaurants are now free to open up their outdoor spaces to customers safely and responsibly. So, you can now go and enjoy the July sunshine with some well-earned refreshments. The new terrace at Musée Guimet is a great choice with its stunning views of the Eiffel Tower and ice cream parlour.
5- Head to one of the many reopened museums.
Finally, July also gives you a chance to enjoy some art and culture once more in Paris. Several galleries and museums are reopening shows, often with reduced capacity and other precautions. This means a chance to see some interesting exhibits like the Mad Dimension experience.
