5 Tips For Staying Positive During The Coronavirus Outbreak
Posted in Events le
Few of us are in a positive mood right now with the stress and uncertainty of Covid-19 and lockdown. But, if we can change our mindset and look for the positive side, it will be easier to get through this.
1- Focus on what you have rather than what you don’t.
While it can be very frustrating to feel stuck at home away from the world, don’t take what you have for granted. Try and see that you have time on your side where you can fill that free time with creative projects and hobbies. You get still work on your goals at home with clever adaptations.
2- Reach out to people online.
If you can’t be with your friends and family during lockdown or any further periods of social distancing, don’t despair. Make a point of holding regular Skype chats. Use the positive side of Twitter to share lighter stories from around the world. Reach out to communities and people in your fandoms through forums. We’re all in this together.
3- Remember that art is universal and digital.
One of the best ways for Parisians to stay positive in this time of Coronavirus self-isolation is to remember that we can still access a lot of the best of Parisian culture. The Louvre is a great example of the emerging trend for online virtual gallery tours. The Paris Opera plans to screen performances online. Read some classic French literature.
4- Everything can be postponed. There is always next year.
2020 is going to be a horrible year for a while but things will improve. When they do, we can attend the events we missed. Either we look forward to the postponement of festivals, exhibitions and shows until Autumn or we make sure that 2021 is better than ever.
5- Know that this will pass.
This period of Covid-19 lockdown in Paris is horrible and stressful but it is also temporary. Create a calendar of the lockdown period and the next few months. Write down the things that you can still look forward to, however small, and count down the days until it is over. Together we will get there.
