Every summer, the Cour des Invalides hosts a sound and light show that uses the sublime classic facades of the Hôtel des Invalides as a screen on which to present the history of Paris and its monuments. This year, the immersive show centres on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte and, as always, promises an absolutely fascinating experience.
An epic immersive experience
Every year for the last decade, the Night of the Invalides has delighted Parisians, tourists, children, history buffs and technology enthusiasts alike. Napoleon – The Flight of the Eagle is a stunning 360o sound and light spectacular projected onto thousands of square metres of elegant stonework. Narrated by the majestic voice of André Dussollier, it’s an invitation to forget the present and immerse yourself in the history of the Napoleonic epic and understand the civil and military heritage the emperor left for his beloved France. For 50 minutes every evening, magic happens!
Your Night at the Invalides
The Hôtel de la Motte-Picquet is only a five-minute walk from the Hôtel des Invalides. So, it will be quick and easy for you to get there for the start of the show at 22:30 from July 16th to July 31st and at 22:00 from August 1st to September 1st. It’s a good idea to arrive 30 minutes before the start so you can find a favourable spot. If you’re concerned about standing too long, it’s possible to reserve seats. Similarly, an entrance and specific locations are provided for people with reduced mobility. And, of course, your Hôtel de la Motte-Picquet team can help you organise your evening.
