A celebrated seafood restaurant in the 17th arrondissement called Dessirier serves up some innovative dishes that have been pleasing Parisians for quite some time. The restaurant's specialties include lobster-crab cakes, lobster club sandwiches and John Dory à la plancha.
For summer 2014, in addition to the creative seafood dishes on the menu, Dessirier will be opening up a special oyster bar with a walk-up street counter. As a result, patrons can enjoy a quick stop for oysters and a glass of wine. What's more, the oyster bar also offers an oyster happy hour Mondays through Fridays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the happy hour, the restaurant will serve up six Normandy oysters and a glass of Cheverny white wine for €8
The restaurant's terrace offers a great opportunity to relax with friends and enjoy people watching in Paris. Even those who do not like oysters can taste some of the other tantalizing offerings. Starters include fish and mussel soup, thinly-slice sea bass with herbs, and sea bream and lobster tartare. Then, diners can enjoy main courses such as red mullet fillet, squid fricassee, baked lobster macaroni and bouillabaisse — among many other things. For dessert, the caramel eclair, hot chocolate soufflé and mille-feuille will not fail to tempt.
Fans of seafood who are staying at the Hôtel de la Motte Picquet should not hesitate to put a meal at Dessirier on their agenda. Located at the Place du Maréchal Juin, this gives visitors the chance to visit the posh area of the 17th arronidssment. The restuarant is open from noon to 2:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., everyday except for Sunday when the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. instead.
