Tucked away and picturesque, the covered passages of Paris are the very essence of quaint charm. Take a stroll through these sheltered, historic, beautifully preserved and elegantly lovely shopping arcades, each of which has its own special ambiance.
Passage Brady for gourmet delights
If you like Indian food, you’ll want to head to the Passage Brady in the 10th arrondissement. Here you can find several fine restaurants offering authentic cuisine from different regions of India. An ideal outing for foodies or an original and romantic choice for a dinner date.
Galerie Vivienne for chic shopping
The 2nd arrondissement is home to the Galerie Vivienne, a superbly elegant covered passage. Perfect for strolling and browsing, its mosaic-tiled floors, wall decorations and vaulted glass roof provide a gorgeous setting for a host of seriously chic shops. Ready-to-wear, interiors, jewellery and accessory stores are among those to be found in this stunning arcade.
Passage des Panoramas for a retro atmosphere
Also nestled in the 2nd arrondissement, the Passage des Panoramas will take you on a journey back into the charm and elegance of yesteryear. Opened in 1800, this beautiful arcade is the oldest of the Parisian covered passages. It’s particularly well regarded by lovers of philately, as several excellent stamp shops are situated there.
