The outstanding Parisian landmark and museum, the Musée de l’Orangerie will give prominence, from October 12th, 2016 through January 30th, 2017, to the 1930’s paintings in a post-Wall Street Crash America.
Entitled American Painting in the 1930’s, the exhibition brings together around sixty paintings from the Social Realist art movement, which emerged and developed during that period as a response to the negative social and economic transformations impact on people’s way of life in the US.
American Painting in the 1930’s showcases stunning paintings by the most prolific and prominent figures of Social Realism including Edward Hopper (1882–1967), Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986), and Grant Wood (1891–1942).
