From May 14th to October 23rd, 2016, the museum of fashion, Palais Galliera is home to Anatomy of a Collection.
Featuring more than a hundred items varying from accessories to garments, this exhibition is an occasion to discover some of the last four centuries’ finest fashion pieces.
Anatomy of a Collection puts on display a selection of old clothes worn by celebrities as well as historical personalities such as Napoleon, Empress Josephine Bonaparte, Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI of France, Cléo de Mérode, and Elsa Schiaparelli. It exposes as well many other items worn by unknown people such as a blouse of a nurse from WWI.
Grand names of fashion designers are also present.
The exhibition Anatomy of a Collection is curated by Olivier Saillard, the director of the Palais Galliera.
Palais Galliera is only a 20-minute walk from our Hotel de la Motte Picquet.
