Each year, the Nuit Blanche (White Night) appeals to an ever-wider audience, offering a unique showcase for contemporary creation. After a 2020 edition truncated because of the pandemic, the artistic directors Sandrina Martins and Mourad Merzouki see this year's event as a rebirth. Movement in all its forms
The Nuit Blanche offers urban routes for moving between the event’s venues. Opening up private spaces and appropriating public spaces reinvented for the occasion, the Nuit Blanche presents various aspects of artistic creativity ranging from painting and sculpture exhibitions to sound and video installations, concerts and dance, all exploring a common theme. In the spirit of the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Paris in 2024, this year’s theme is the link between art and sport, with a focus on the idea of movement.
An evening of creativity
Movement will therefore inform all the works and performances and the public is invited to participate by following the event’s urban routes. You can walk the GR75 hiking trail at a steady pace across Paris, with art and culture breaks along the way. Very close to your Hotel de la Motte Piquet, for example, you can enjoy an exhibition devoted to martial arts at the Quai Branly Museum, while the Embassy of the Czech Republic offers a creation combining sculpture, video, music and performance that is designed to celebrate the meeting of three cultures: Czech, Argentinian and French.
