Opportunities for walking, sightseeing, shopping and gourmet dinners abound near our hotel. But Paris has, in all its districts, other treasures to be absolutely discovered. To help you organize your stay and plan your outings, we have listed the places of the capital. A few minutes from the Hotel de la Motte Picquet Paris, in Paris or just around the city, here are some of our favorite places.
To discover by foot from the hotel
1 minute:
- Rue Cler, its shops, cafés and its picturesque market
2 minutes:
- The Hotel des Invalides, Napoleon's tomb, the Museum of the Army
- The Ecole Militaire and its typical architecture of Louis XV
10 minutes:
- The Eiffel Tower, the ultimate symbol of Paris, 324 m high
- The avenue Georges V and its shops, palaces, restaurants and nightclubs are all prestigious addresses
- The avenue Montaigne and its luxury boutiques of “Haute Couture”
15 minutes:
- The Rodin Museum present marbles, bronzes, terracotta, ceramics, paintings, drawings of the master but also some works of the famous sculptor Camille Claudel, Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh
- The Orsay Museum : the largest collection of Impressionist works in the world
- The Pont (bridge) Alexandre III, typical of the exuberant architecture of the Belle Epoque
20 minutes:
- The Champs Elysées, the most beautiful and most famous avenue in the world, but also the Arc de Triomphe, erected to the glory of the great Napoleonic army
- Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the mythical district of the french artists, writers and the Nouvelle Vague

8 minutes:
- The Concorde, the largest square in Paris with the Luxor Obelisk and the Tuileries Gardens, the oldest garden “à la française” in the Capital
10 minutes:
- Place de la Madeleine, restaurants, delis and buildings with remarkable architecture -
- The Palais Garnier, the monument, inaugurated in 1875, hosts the finest ballet and opera of the world
- The large department stores on Boulevard Haussmann : “Printemps” and “Galeries Lafayette”, real temples of shopping
15 minutes:
- Notre-Dame de Paris, a major work of Gothic architecture, legendary thanks to the beautiful novel written by Victor Hugo about the hunchback Quasimodo and the gypsy Esmeralda
- The Louvre, the largest museum in the world and its 35,000 works !
20 minutes:
- Montmartre district, famous for having inspired the painters of the 19th century, for the Moulin Rouge and the precious Basilica of the Sacred Heart. You can have your portrait realized by an artist in the place du Tertre
25 minutes:
- The Marais and the Place des Vosges, built in the 17th century and considered one of the finest in Paris
But also:
The Père Lachaise cemetery, the Montparnasse Tower, the Latin Quarter, the business Defense district, the Centre Pompidou, the Place de la Bastille and the Opera of the Bastille

- The Château de Versailles, which was the residence of the kings of France, Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI
- The Disneyland Paris Park and its spectacular attractions for the whole family
