Usually hosted by the Grand Palais, the International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC) has been forced to relocate this year - the Grand Palais being closed for renovations. The good news is that this popular event has found refuge in a magnificent wooden structure boasting sound ecological virtues; a temporary Grand Palais located just five minutes from your Hotel de la Motte Picquet, on the Champs de Mars. Don’t miss it!
A showcase of contemporary art
The FIAC offers a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts and professionals alike as it brings together the best work represented by some 160 galleries from all over the world to give a comprehensive overview of all the trends in contemporary creation. From the work of artists who have been world-famous for decades to the creations of young stars of the future discovered by innovative gallery owners, the fair presents the best contemporary art from New York to Paris, by way of Moscow, Singapore and Abidjan.
The fair outside the walls
However, the FIAC is not limited to the spaces of the ephemeral Grand Palais. You can also take a stroll and admire the works installed amidst the green surroundings of the Jardin des Tuileries and the monumental Flying Dragon by Alexander Calder in the Place Vendôme. Don’t miss the installations and performance art awaiting your discovery at the Bourse du Commerce, the Louvre auditorium and the Pompidou Centre.
