On the occasion of the France-Russia Year of Cultural Tourism 2016-2017, until February 20, 2017, the Parisian art museum and cultural center, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, is presenting "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection".
The exhibition, which is realized thanks to the State Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, in Russia, features one of the finest private collections that is not really known to the western public, the private collection of the early 20th-century Russian businessman and art collector Sergei Shchukin.
More than 130 works of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Modernism are put on display. Among which, works by Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, and Pablo Picasso.
The exhibition "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection” is curated by Anne Baldassari.
