Even if you happen to be visiting Paris on business, why not take advantage of the ideal location of your Hotel de la Motte-Picquet and visit one or more of the great Parisian museums? You won’t need public transport because the following museums are less than 25 minutes away on foot…
Great institutions
Starting out on foot from your Hotel de la Motte-Picquet, walk along the magnificent esplanade of the Hôtel des Invalides to the Seine. Continuing along the quays, you will soon arrive at the Musée d'Orsay and its superb collection of Impressionist paintings. Here, in addition to the impressive architecture of this former railway station, you can admire treasures such as the Bal du Moulin de la Galette by Renoir, the Olympia by Manet and the Poppy Field by Monet. Remaining on the banks of the Seine, you can continue to the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, a museum dedicated to the indigenous arts and cultures of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Finally, on your way back, visit the Hôtel des Invalides and see the imposing tomb of Napoleon.
An opportunity for a stroll
Just on the other side of the Hôtel des Invalides from your hotel is the Musée Rodin. A magnificent mansion houses the creations of the great sculptor as well as works that he admired and collected during his life. Don’t miss the museum’s gardens, where magnificent rose bushes bloom, and you can admire amidst the groves the most monumental of Rodin’s works, including The Thinker. If your steps then lead you to the Champ de Mars, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, consult the program of exhibitions at the Grand Palais Ephémère.
