A holiday in Paris is incomplete without taking a trip to the Palace of Versailles, easily accessible by public transport from the Hotel de la Motte Picquet. Every Saturday evening of summer until September 21st, 2019, you will have the opportunity to attend the Night Fountains Show and the Royal Serenade in the Hall of Mirrors.

The Palace of Versailles, a former hunting lodge of Louis XIII, was also the home of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI, each of whom lived there surrounded by their court.
The ostentatious but nevertheless splendid Baroque architecture, the multitude of art objects, the gorgeous furniture and splendid décor all serve to make the Palace of Versailles a perfect reflection of the greatness of the former kingdom of France.
Stroll freely in the beautiful rooms of the palace listening to an informative and entertaining audio guide. Gaze in awe at the famous Hall of Mirrors created by the architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart, who developed what became known as the Louis XIV style. Conclude your visit in the famous gardens designed by André Le Nôtre, and don’t miss the Trianons.
The summer 2019 shows
Between June and September, the gardens come to life every weekend at dusk to offer you 2½ hours of fairy-tale entertainment. The Night Fountains Show springs into sparkling life as night falls, enchanting the palace grounds to the accompaniment of extracts from baroque musical works. Majestic fountains and waterfalls dance to the sound of the music while the gardens and groves are magically illuminated. It all culminates in the grand finale; a splendid fireworks display.
Just before the Night Fountains Show, you can also attend the Royal Serenade in the Hall of Mirrors performed by Baroque musicians and dancers. Step back in time for 50 minutes and experience life at the court of the Sun King!
