The Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient
Posted in Museums / Exhibits le
Yves Saint Laurent was one of the leading creative geniuses of the Parisian fashion world. He had this strange way of tapping into ideas and cultures and adding his own slant on the themes and designs. This is brilliantly clear in the way that he worked with designs from Eastern cultures. Across the decades, he was able to dream up stunning, authentic-looking designs with Chinese, Japanese and Indian origins. He did so without ever stepping foot in these lands.
Today, fashion student and fans of the designer can see some of this work up close.
The Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient exhibition at the Musee Yves Saint Laurent in Paris plays host to a series of costumes, artworks and artifacts from each region. The result is an immersive, educational experience. The show continues at the museum until the 27th of January and is a must-see exhibition for those that love fashion and Eastern design.
